Welcome Welcome to City Soccer Club, the most Brazilian club in
West Los Angeles ! It’s more than a club: it’s a big family! We teach from the heart, which empowers our athletes to play with passion and to learn to love the game. Our experienced and professional coaches have proven that the right teaching and motivation produce consistent results year-in and year-out. Our club’s objective is to teach young people how to realize their full potential in any endeavor, and how to find the joy in pursuing excellence. Athletes in our program are taught focus and discipline first and foremost. As they attain that focus and discipline, players develop fundamental skills which allow them to build towards the successful execution of the classic moves of great players. Our teaching combines the principles of Coerver Coaching (which emphasizes a skilled first touch and fast play) with the Brazilian tradition of creativity, dribbling skill, and magical combinations.

Our mission is to identify young soccer players with a passion for the game, and then through rigorous professional training to develop these players to their highest potential. We strive to develop athletes of character who exhibit honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. The physical, mental, and emotional needs of every athlete are met by coaches who prepare for each practice not only by planning the drills and schedule of practice, but also by considering how best to develop each individual at that time.
The club will engage in competitive play at the regional, state, national and international levels. We specifically emphasize international competition so as to expose our players to different cultures and to different styles of play from around the world. This will serve to improve cultural awareness and foster goodwill for others as well as broadening the players’ soccer experiences. We see this dimension of our club as one of its unique strengths, and one of the reasons why we have one of the most ethnically and socio-economically diverse clubs in
Southern California . Developing in our young athletes an enhanced and more nuanced level of cultural awareness is important to us as members of the larger community of Culver City and
West Los Angeles .

Goals

Raise the level of each player from average to good and from good to exceptional based upon the technical, tactical, physical and psychological fundamentals of the game.

Foster a group training atmosphere in which the good of the whole group is valued as well as the needs of the individual.

Educate our teams by passing along our knowledge and life lessons so they can learn from them and those who have been in our programs previously.

Show respect for one another as well as others, and create an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment for all.

Constantly reassess our programs to enable participation to develop an attitude of higher achievement and sportsmanship that will carry over into areas of education, citizenship, community responsibility, physical and mental fitness.

Identify players with outstanding potential and place them in a learning environment designed to encourage personal development.

Assist high school players with their recruiting opportunities at the collegiate level to participate as student athletes.

Elevate the profile and image of City Soccer Club -
